Twilight fans have gotten together to raise money for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. The mission of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is to raise funds and awareness of childhood cancer causes, primarily to support research into new cures and treatments; to encourage and educate others, especially children, to raise money for childhood cancer by holding their own lemonade stands; and to expedite the process of finding new cures and treatments, and bringing them to children with cancer now.

Vanity Fair - Chaske Spencer

Vanity Fair has published another interview with a member of the Wolfpack, Chaske Spencer, who plays "Sam Uley".


Here is an excerpt:

VF.com: How did you get the part of Wolf Pack leader, Sam Uley?

Chaske Spencer: It was one of the weirdest auditions I’ve done. We put it on tape, and usually the process is: you meet the casting director, get a callback, then you meet the producer and director. This just went straight from tape. I auditioned for all of the parts of the Wolf Pack; they called me back and told me what part I had. Also, I didn’t really know who [the character] was because I didn’t know much about Twilight. Then I figured it out and said, “Wow, that’s a really good part.” It’s amazing. I’ve never gotten a part like that before.

Once you got the part, did you go back and read the books?

Yeah, I started with New Moon. Then I started dabbling in Eclipse because there’s a lot of back-story to my character. I really tried to relate to those characters, do my job … and then go to the gym.

The Break Up Scene!

OME!!!!! New Moon is going to be AWESOME!!!! I was in tears watching this video clip of the break up scene. How can you not be in tears? How can your heart not be breaking like Bella's? How could Edward be so mean and just leave? It was one thing reading this scene in the book but seeing it......for me, it was for real!!

How did the wolves come together as a pack?

They got us a personal trainer, and we just went to the workouts and got to know each other. We saw each other’s strengths and pushed each other’s buttons; we really bonded during that time. We’d go out to eat a lot and watch movies …

What was your favorite scene to shoot?

I call it the “muffin scene.” It’s right after Bella finds out we’re all werewolves, and we take her to Emily’s house while Jacob, Paul, and Sam are off in the woods taking care of some wolf business.

Cat Deeley & Eclipse

So You Think You Can Dance host Cat Deeley isn't in Eclipse, but ya gotta trust her when she says the flick is likely to be more intense than the others.

Deeley's hot-stuff boyfriend, Jack Huston, plays the movie's Royce King II, love interest of Rosalie Hale (Nikki Reed) before she was turned into a vampire.

"He went and did his filming, and he loved it," Deeley told me the other night at Elle's Women in Hollywood event in Beverly Hills. "I think the film is going to be really good."

And really dark.

"It's actually going to be quite dark," Deeley said. "With David Slade as director taking something that's typically for teens, spinning it on its head while still being true to the books and still drawing in the teen audience—but making it dark? That's what makes it interesting."

And Deeley says she's looking forward to Huston getting more attention. "I think I've had my time, so let him have his," she said, smiling. "I can't wait for somebody else to have it."

Even if Huston doesn't play a bloodsucker, Deeley said that doesn't keep her imagination from running a bit wilder these days.

"I haven't seen pointy teeth or anything," she joked, "but he does come alive after dark."

Let's hope the same is true for Pattinson & Co. at the premiere!

Twilight: Truth and Rumors

Breaking Dawn, the fourth film in the Twilight series, has created an enormous amount of buzz on Twitter, blogs, and even on casting websites—so much so that casting director Lana Veenker had to post a blog (The Casting Scoop) just to tell people to stop contacting her, because she hadn’t been contracted to cast the film. New Moon, in theaters on November 20, and Eclipse, which just wrapped, were both shot in Vancouver, B.C. But the original Twilight movie was shot right here in Portland, and we’ve all been wondering:

Will they stay in Vancouver or come back to Portland?

I made some calls to Los Angeles and spoke to a couple of industry insiders who would only speak to me off the record. The studio spokesperson I talked with most recently said the rumors of Breaking Dawn coming to Portland are completely false. He said the press releases are fabricated, the third movie (Eclipse) is just wrapping, the fourth movie isn’t greenlit, it’s too soon to say anything about the fourth film… I believe that this is all he is allowed to say publicly, and I appreciate the fact that he actually returned my phone call.

Now do you want the real scoop? Of course you do.

Twilight is coming back to Portland.

I can’t tell you how I know this, but I know this. According to a very reliable source, there are two production companies involved: Summit Entertainment and Sunswept Entertainment. The movie will be split into two separate films. Breaking Dawn Part 1 will most likely begin shooting in March of 2010 (despite rumors putting the start date as September 2010), which puts filming right smack-dab on the same schedule as Leverage. Portland will look like the backlot of Universal with Leverage and then the two Breaking Dawn movies shooting back to back.

Rumor has it that Karen Rosenfelt, producer at Sunswept Entertainment and the daughter of MGM Chairman & CEO Frank Edward Rosenfelt, is onboard for Breaking Dawn. I called Rosenfelt, and she was unavailable for comment.

Alex Meraz - Vanity Fair Interview

What was your favorite scene to shoot?

The cliff diving scene was the most fun because the whole Wolf Pack was there and we were jumping off these 50-foot scaffolding things onto an air mattress. It was pretty exciting to be able to do our own stunts.

You didn't have stunt doubles at all?

No! They were pushing for it, we were pushing against; we wanted to do our own stuff. We had to train for a good two days, eight hours each day just practicing jumping, making sure we were landing safely. On the day [of shooting], we were actually jumping from a green screen cliff but it was actually taller and a little bit more dangerous because there was foliage and grass on top of it—it was a little slippery. We were fine, and it was really fun.
