(Re)Discovering New Moon

We off to a great start Twilighters with our re-reading of New Moon. Join us anytime during these upcoming weeks. Join in too in our discussions even if it's just to say "Hi"!

Here's what one of our Twilighters had to say:

Hinano said... Page one..."I was racing to save something infinitely more precious. My own life meant little to me today". I understand Bella's feelings here, how many times we would sacrifice our lives for children, family or God.

One of my favorite quotes...Page 10 " Eighteen isn't very old, don't women usually wait till they're twenty-nine to get upset over birthdays". I remember when I was 29 and dreading the fact that one day, I will become 30. So depressing, but after that...so blessed to be able to live. That's what this quote reminded me of.

This Is Not Twilight But I Just Had To Post This

Our 808 Twilighter Sister HawaiiKat sent me this story that I had to share with you!!! Enjoy! =)

 PORK CHOPS

In a zoo in California, a mother tiger gave birth to a rare set of triplet tiger cubs. Unfortunately, due to complications in the pregnancy, the cubs were born prematurely and due to their tiny size, they died shortly after birth.

The mother tiger after recovering from the delivery, suddenly started to decline in health, although physically she was fine. The veterinarians felt that the loss of her litter had caused the tigress to fall into a depression. The doctors decided that if the tigress could surrogate another mother's cubs, perhaps she would improve.

Afterchecking with many other zoos across the country, the depressing news was that there were no tiger cubs of the right age to introduce to the mourning mother. The veterinarians decided to try something that had never been tried in a zoo environment.

Sometimes a mother of one species will take on the care of a different species. The only 'orphans'
that could be found quickly, were a litter of weanling pigs. The zoo keepers and vets wrapped the piglets in tiger skin and placed the babies around the mother tiger. Would they become cubs or pork chops??

Take a look...

Now, please,
Tell me one more time .........?
Why can't the rest of the world get along??

WoW! How Come Nobody Told Me About This?

Original Missing Scene From Twilight

This was on Stephenie Meyers MySpace page before she deleted it.

Thank you to TwiCrack and Twilight Lexicon

Exerpt from Twilight Lexicon:

I sent a grumbling e-mail to Stephenie a while back mentioning how the folks over at MySpace have been treated several times to extra bits of scenes and such from unpublished sections of her books.  Being the very gracious and fair author that she is, and knowing that I probably wouldn’t shut up until she gave me something, Stephenie sent me this little out take for everyone to read here at the lexicon.

From what I can gather, in the original Twilight manuscript, Bella, Edward, and Alice stayed behind in Phoenix while she healed and then drove home passing through Las Vegas on the way.  This scene takes place in an unnamed Las Vegas casino.  Bella still has a cast on her leg.

ENJOY!!

The next morning, we went to the casino. Natural light never came close to touching the gaming floor, so it was very easy. Edward told me it was generally expected for them to go lose some money in the hotel—a suite like ours was reserved for that special class of visitor known as high rollers.

As they walked—and I rolled in my wheelchair—through the acres of elegantly decorated casino floor, three times Alice paused at a particular slot machine and slid a card through the scanner. Each time she did this, sirens would blare, lights would revolve, and an electronic simulation of coins dropping indicated that her prize had been credited to her room. She tried to get me to do it once, but I skeptically shook my head.

"I thought you were supposed to lose money," I accused her.

"Oh, I will," she assured me. "But not until I make them sweat a little." Her smile was sinful.

We reached a more lavishly decorated division of the huge casino, where there were no slot machines or casually dressed tourists with plastic cups full of change. Plush chairs replaced the swiveling bar stools, and the voices were quiet, serious. But we continued still further, through a set of ornate gold doors into another room, a private room, more opulent yet. Finally I understood why Alice had insisted on the raw silk, emerald green wrap around dress she’d tied on me today, why she was wearing a long, white satin sarong—with a short lace top that bared her flat, white stomach—and why Edward was overwhelming and irresistible in another light silk suit. The players in this room were all dressed with an exclusive splendor whose expense was far beyond my imagining. A few of the impeccable older men even had young women in glittering, strapless gowns standing behind their chairs, just like in the movies. I pitied the beautiful women as their eyes swept over Alice and Edward, realizing their own deficiencies as they measured the first, and the deficiencies of their partners as they ogled the second. I was the enigma, and their eyes slid away from me unsatisfied.

Alice glided off toward the long roulette tables, and I cringed as I thought of the havoc she would wreak.

"You do know how to play black jack, of course," Edward bent forward to murmur in my ear.

"Are you kidding?" I felt the color drain from my face.

"Knowing your luck, I couldn’t lose any more thoroughly than by letting you play," he chuckled. He wheeled me toward a table with three empty chairs. The two immaculately dressed, exceptionally dignified Asian men glanced up in disbelief as Edward lifted me gently into one of the empty velvet chairs, and took the seat next to me. The delicate oriental beauty who stood at the end of the table watched with insulting incredulity as Edward caressed my hair possessively.

"Only use one hand," he breathed almost silently in my ear. "And keep your cards over the table."

Edward spoke a quiet word to the dealer, and two impressive stacks of dark blue chips appeared on the table in front of us. They had no numbers—and I didn’t want to know anyway. Edward pushed a small stack of his forward, and a larger stack of mine. I glared at Edward in embarrassed panic, but he just smiled impishly as the dealer dealt the cards swiftly around. I picked up my cards carefully with one hand, holding them rigidly above the table. I had two nines. Edward held his cards loosely; I could see he had a five and a seven. I glanced guardedly at the two gentlemen next to me, intent but terrified, watching carefully to see what the protocol was for a high rolling black jack table. To my relief, it seemed easy enough. The first swept the top of his cards briefly against the felt, and received a card, the second slipped the corner of his cards under his bet, leaving them on the table, and didn’t. I quickly put my cards down, shoving them awkwardly under my chips—cheeks flaming—when the dealer looked at me. Belatedly I noticed that the dealer had a queen. Edward brushed the table lightly, and the dealer threw a nine face up on the table in front of him. I glared at him, as the men beside me murmured appreciatively.

The dealer had a jack, and I lost, as did both Asian gentlemen. He smoothly relieved us of our chips. I heard a subdued commotion coming from the direction of the roulette table, but I was afraid to look. Edward pushed another stack of my chips onto the table, and it began again.

When my chips were gone, Edward passed me half of his, unable to contain his amused smile. He was doing well, winning three times as often as the other men at the table. But, with the size of my bets controlled by him, I was losing chips faster than he could rake them in. I had yet to win a hand. It was humiliating—but at least I was sure to never become a gambling addict.

Finally, I lost our last stack of chips. The Asian gentlemen, and their female escort, watched Edward with impressed curiosity as he could no longer contain his mirth, chuckling quietly, but with deep amusement, while he returned me to the wheel chair. I blushed and kept my eyes on the thick carpet as he pushed me away, still laughing.

"I’m the worst gambler in history," I muttered apologetically.

"Actually, you’re not. That’s what so funny." He laughed again. "You didn’t do one thing wrong, aside from playing a little conservatively. The odds that you would lose every hand…" He shook his head, grinning.

We got to the roulette table just in time to watch Alice lose her spectacular pile of multihued chips in one disastrous spin of the wheel. The many hopeful players who had bet with her on seventeen black looked murderously disappointed. She laughed, a trilling, carefree sound, and joined us.

"Did we lose enough?" I whispered as we exited the gold doors.

"I think the house is satisfied. You’re probably their favorite client today," he snickered.

"Please promise me one thing."

"Anything you want."

"Never, ever tell me how much money I lost today, please."

We were in the noisy casino by this time, and his laugh was unrestrained.

What did you think about this Twilighters? We'd love to hear from you! Please leave you comments below.

"The Real Charlie Bewley Knows He's Famous....."

Article from Hollywood.com

He is attractive, and with appearances in all three of the upcoming Twilight Saga films (November’s New Moon and Breaking Dawn and Eclipse, slated for 2010 and 2011, respectively), audiences will have a plethora of opportunities to see so for themselves.

“In Eclipse, you’re not going to see much, but Breaking Dawn is an opportunity for me to really show his power and if they allow me to just let loose. It’s really exciting.”

"He," of course, is Demetri, Bewley’s vampire alter ego. He describes his character as, “vicious, aggressive, dark and efficient. Lethal. But at the same time, he’s not evil; just by our standards, the things he does are evil.”

The way Bewley sees it, Demetri “has a lot of misplaced energy, or a lot of unused energy, and that kind of manifests in his behavior. When I first started thinking about the character, I did the whole animal thing, and I just worked out that he was this killer housecat -- just in the way he is and his attention is fairly ADD. But his attention is always towards something that’s moving or something that’s happening, and he wants to be part of that and he wants to get his hand on it. It’s constant. He just wants to run or chase. But he’s very kind of confined within this sort of mafioso arrangement that the Volturi coven is. He’s contained. And he just wants to go. And this is since Jane and Alec have come on the scene, because they are now the heads, and there’s no more fighting, so he’s kind of bored. He’s looking for action.”

Prior to conjuring up these characteristics (he even ran Demetri’s back story by series author Stephenie Meyer), Bewley had to earn the role. He auditioned twice for Demetri and once for the role of Marcus. He was “elated” to get the part of the Volturi tracker, as he feels he and the vampire share similar qualities.

“It makes it easier, yeah, number one. Number two, I think right now, I think I just have to be, in an acting sense, fairly loyal to the energy I’ve got as a person. And right now, I’ve got a lot of energy, and I want that to be shown in everything I do. Demetri is a character who hasn’t really -- in Eclipse, you’re not going to see much, but Breaking Dawn is an opportunity for me to really show his power, and if they allow me to just let loose … it’s really exciting.”

Eclipse, the Saga’s third installment, is currently being filmed in Vancouver. The film, following the series’ habit of bringing in a new director for each installment, is being directed by David Slade, best known for the dark comedy Hard Candy and another atmospheric vampire flick, 30 Days of Night.

Eclipse is going to be dark, and it’s going to be dreadful," Bewley says, "It’s going to be gory and brutal.”

If the hype surrounding New Moon is any indication of the success Eclipse will experience, then the third film is going to be huge, and Bewley, huger with it. He attributes the film franchise’s success thus far to one key element.

“They go insane because Rob did a really good job in the first one. That’s why they’re obsessed with vampires … Those two are just brilliant together. They really are. It’s a perfect match. No one has ever really questioned whether they were the right people or not, they’ve always just been perfect. Really well cast."

Of his co-star Kristen Stewart, often criticized in tab-blogs for being standoffish, Bewley says, “I think she could be a lot like Bella. She doesn’t want too much attention, and she picks her friends wisely and she’s someone who just wants to do her work. Not everyone is going to be like Jamie [Campbell Bower] or me or someone who loves this whole attention thing and laps it up and sees it as a life experience. Some people are more reserved, just ‘I just want to keep myself to myself and do my thing and sorry if I can’t give all of my energy to you.’ Maybe it’s because I have so much energy."

Bewley hasn’t yet reached the tabloid-cover level of fame, a la Rob and Kristen, but he has gotten a taste of what his co-stars’ very public lives are like.

“When it first happened, I started getting rounds of phone calls because my number was on my website. When it was first announced, those first few days were kind of weird. It was like, OK ... and you start Googling yourself and there’s more and more and more and more stuff.

I just worry about what’s going to come out because I’ve had a big past and I’ve done a lot of things before and I’m ultra-paranoid someone’s going to come on there and say something. But it doesn’t happen like that. Everyone just watches and smiles and enjoys it for you.”

Considering that Bewley has gone from cab driver to major motion picture vampire royalty in a few short years, it's likely that the characters of his past, whoever they may be, are indeed smiling. What's certain is that his thousands of new fans are too.

Great to Have Met You Donna!!!!

Our 808Twilighter sister, TwiLuvr808, met Donna yesterday afternoon. Here's her story!!

I went to Mililani Wal-Mart to pick up something and as I was leaving, Donna drove past me.  My mouth dropped and it took me a few seconds to realize I was supposed to follower her.  Good thing she drove into the Starbucks parking lot and wasn't leaving.   I then sped across one parking lot and drove into the next lot while hitting my steering wheel with excitement!

As I was looking for parking, I was thinking "How the heck am I going to approach this lady?"

I didn't want her to think I was some kind of nut job, but I do want her to know how excited I am to finally meet her!  I decide to just go with the flow, just go up to her, as calm as I could be, and talk to her.  When I got to Starbucks she was in her car.  I'm thinking  "ok...now what?"  Do i approach her car, or do I stop her as she goes into Starbucks.  I'm like screw it!  Just go up to the car.  So I'm waving at her while I'm approaching her and she was so sweet, she waved back and rolled down her window.  I was so nervous, I was shaking!  I told Donna I'm not a nut job, but I am finally glad I got to meet her, that everyone's seen her around but me and I live in Mililani!

I told her that our group...I didn't say our name...SORRY...I was nervous...is having a New Moon Party and we'd be honored if she could come as our honored guest!  She asked what day, checked her calendar, and put us down!  YAY!!!! Oh and she's bringing a friend who she said is just as crazy, but not really, as she is.  She said that her friend is her "heroine supplier."  Her friend searches in the internet for things and Donna buys them.  I thought that was so cute.

I gave Donna, what Michelle/TTM later told me, was the very first blog/business card she gave us at Ruby Tuesdays.  I knew it was an old one...but I at least, I  thought from Bravo's night.  But it was the only one I had and I kept it in my wallet just incase I did run into Donna. So Michelle, I'll need another card.  LOL.

Oh, so anyways, I gave her the card with the blog info, and told her she can find all the info for the Nov 08 on there as well.  I gave her Michelle's name and number as well as mine.  I had to hug her because I was so happy.  I don't remember if I asked for for a hug or if I just leaned in.  In fact I hugged her twice!  I told her I'm sorry, I'm really not a crazy person.  Donna is really sweet and told me that people stop her all the time.  She said to stop by and say hi at the New Food and Product Show.  YAY!!!!

Can You Stand It?

As requested..."Jaw Porn"...starring Robert Pattinson

How'd you like THAT Honolulu Girl?!?!

Pre-Order Scene-It Board Game

There’s already Twilight The Game, but now new (exciting!) details have been released as “Twilight” enters into another genre of movie trivia games. Two months ago we teased initial information about Scene It? Twilight, which will hit shelves on October 1.
But today Konami and Screenlife released new news that the Twilight edition will be available not only as a board game, but will be released for Wii in the fall and DS in spring 2010.

The DVD board game (pictured) is slated for ages 14 and up, will cost about $30 and will available at all major retailers (in fact, you can already pre-order the game on Amazon.com). There was no news on how much the Wii or DS versions of the game will cost.

The Wii features will differ from those of the board game, which we discussed in our previous post. The Wii Scene It? version will contain over 500 multiple choice questions based on movie clips, music and audio (similar to how the board game works), but will have a new user interface. According to the press release, “the new Scene It? Twilight Wii version presents a new look and feel, giving fans a great reason to play both the Wii and the DVD boardgame versions.” We’re not sure what that could be, but we’re hoping its somewhere along the lines of different version of Edward shirtless and maybe the possibility of us virtually simulating the touching of his abs.

Scene It? Twilight for the Wii will incorporate the use of the Wiimote to buzz in, instead of the controllers the board game comes with. There will also be two new gameplay modes: single and multiplayer (you're already planning a firls sleepover now aren't you?) and new scoring systems.

Though there was no news on how the DS game will differ from either of the other formats (six months is still pretty far away), we’re assuming — like most Wii to DS games — its look and functionality will remain similar. So there you go, “Twilight” fans. Edward and Bella are coming to Nintendo products near you, and now you have a new reason to buy a Wii and DS.

NM Soundtrack: "Satellite Heart" by Anya Marina

Lyrics:

So pretty, so smart
Such a waste of a young heart!
What a pity, what a sham,
What’s the matter with you, man?

Don’t you see it’s wrong, can’t you get it right?
Out of mind and outta sight.
Call on all your girls, don’t forget the boys,
Put a lid on all that noise!

I’m a satellite heart, lost in the dark.
I’m spun out so far, you stop, I start,
But I’ll be true to you.

I hear you’re living out of state,
Running in a whole new scene.
They say i haven’t slept in weeks,
You’re the only thing I see.

I’m a satellite heart, lost in the dark,
I’m spun out so far, you stop, I start,
But I’ll be true to you.

I’m a satellite heart, lost in the dark,
I’m spun out so far, you stop I start.
But I’ll be true to you no matter what you do,
Yeah I’ll be true to you.

Robsten Info

As we told you last week, Team Awful was in the Vancouver area over the weekend. And since we (along with Oprah) ended up getting totally barred from any visits to the Eclipse set, we decided to make the most of our time in the city Robsten currently calls home.

While there were no Robert Pattinson or Kristen Stewart sightings, call it a wee bit of Twilight fate when we ended up at apparently one of Robsten's (and the cast's) frequent hangs for dinner.

"Someone left their jacket here last night," we overheard one of the cute hostesses saying as we were waiting to be seated.

"Oh yeah, that's Ashley Greene's. They'll all be in later anyway, she can just get it then," another hostess responded.

While a common name like that would have probably gone over any normal person's head, you bet our A.T. ears perked up.

"You don't happen to be talking about the Twilight cast," Team Awful said, as we butted into the convo in the nicest way possible.

"Oh yeah, they're in here all the time!" replied hostess one.

We told the hostess gals our day job—writing for this lovely column here for E! (we're not the sneaky goss types)—and of course fessed our love for vampires and such.

Lucky for us, these partick gals are Awful Truth fans themselves and knew we weren't sketch reporters. So our end of the bargain was that we wouldn't name the restaurant (to keep our fab friends out of it, and to help give the Eclipse crew as much peace as possible), and they gave us some fun insider Twi-tidbits from the locals' perspective:

"The whole cast comes in a lot together. For some reason, this is one of the places the paparazzi doesn't constantly find them," dished one of the girls who has seated the Twilight crew dozens of time.

"It looks like they all really get along well. It's always a fun table—they are laughing, joking and just very polite," added the other girl.

A.T.: How about Rob and Kristen, what is their dynamic like?
Hostess One: Doesn't everyone just know that they're dating?

A.T.: Uh, you'd be surprised how many don't want to believe it.
Hostess Two: Oh, well everyone here knows. They are the only cast members who will come in alone a lot. You can just tell by looking at them. They're really cute together, always smiling.

A.T.: Love it! Hate to say it though, but "smiling" and "Kristen Stewart" seem unlikely to be in the same sentence together.
Hostess One: No way. She is incredibly sweet—I'd be a bitch, too, if there were cameras constantly in my face. But she's great, and so is Rob. They just seem to make each other happy.

DazedDigital.com brings us AnOther Man! Issue #9

Here is an excerpt from the Robert Pattinson feature written by Dave Calhoun.

Was Pattinson aware of the loyalty of fans of the Twilight books? It looks like the sort of obsessive fandom that can turn into anger and even hatred when an adaptation isn’t to their liking. Did he know what he was letting himself in for? “It’s strange because even though the figures show that the books were successful and sold millions of copies, you couldn’t even buy them in London. I tried a couple of bookshops and they weren’t available. Hardly anyone I knew had read them apart from one girl, a friend of my sister. I had no idea at all. I’d seen Kristen Stewart in Into the Wild and some of the director Catherine Hardwicke’s other films, and that’s all I thought it was, something really small.”

His manner is very laid back. He doesn’t sound thrusting or ambitious, more like he’s just going with the flow and enjoying things. Is he going to harness his newfound fame and box-office appeal to approach the kind of filmmakers he wants to work with in the future? He’s not so sure. “Annoyingly, there are so few parts I feel I can add anything to, or that I want to do.” But he knows what he doesn’t need. “I don’t want to be an actor for the sake of it. I don’t find any particular pleasure in being an attention-seeker.”

Issue 9 of AnOther Man will be on sale in the UK on October 1st

New Moon's Quileute Nation

Reelz channel's Twilight Weekly will have an exclusive look at New Moon's Quileute Nation tomorrow night.

Set your DVR's to Oceanic ch. 546 at 10pm

Here's their article:

Ever since Stephenie Meyer introduced the Quileute Nation to the world with her Twilight Saga, legions of fans have become interested in the Nation and its legend of a tribe descended from wolves. And while the Quileute have welcomed most fans to La Push, the Nation hasn't granted the media access to gather footage and imagery within the tribal lands.
That's why we're so honored and excited that ReelzChannel was allowed to capture the Nation's rich heritage and cultural traditions during a recent visit. Here's what Quileute spokesperson Jackie Jacobs had to say:

"It was very important to this Nation to partner with an organization that we felt understood that the non-fictional Quileute story is more complex, multi-dimensional, and sacred than [the one] everyone has been exposed to. Vancouver: Bitten by Twilight Craze!

Bloodthirsty bloggers and celebrity gossipers are creating a level of fan-demonium like never before, observers in Vancouver say.

Vancouver From Saturday's Globe and Mail
If you're a Vancouverite who wouldn't have known a few weeks ago who actor Robert Pattinson was if he came up and bit you in the neck, chances are that's changed in the last while. Pattinson and his Twilight vampire saga co-stars (Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, et al.) have been in and around the city filming Twilight: Eclipse – the third instalment in the movie series – and bloodthirsty bloggers and celebrity gossip sites have been sucking it all up.

“Kellan Lutz on His Way Back to Vancouver, with Teddy Grahams!” gushed the Eclipse website this week, sparking a deluge of photos of Lutz, mid-sweaty gym workout sans shirt, or “Robsten” (yes, that's Pattinson and Stewart) stepping out together on fan sites such as robertpattinsondaily.org and bellaandedward.com.

“I'm not sure I can even describe how much interest there is,” says Molly Goodson, editor of the San Francisco-based celebrity gossip site PopSugar. “I've been working on celebrity stuff for about four years and it's by far the biggest thing I've ever seen. It's crazy.”

The Twilight films are based on Stephenie Meyer's novels of the same name about the vampire Edward (Pattinson) and Bella (Stewart), the human teen who falls for him. The novels were bestsellers before they hit the big screen, but the films have turned the Twilight industry into an even larger phenomenon – fuelling a staggering interest in the stars.

“Any and every photo – it doesn't matter how bad it is, it doesn't matter how little you can see of the people, the fans want to see everything and they will look at every single photo all day long,” says Goodson.

To say the photos are good for driving traffic to the websites is an understatement.

“I think there's probably more interest in this film than any other,” says Adam Nutburn, whose U.K.-based site Showbiz Spy posts daily updates on the stars in Vancouver. “It's constant.”

Nutburn says most of his tips come from people working on-set. They, of course, request anonymity.

The production company has tried to keep filming sites under wraps, but when word of a location spreads (at a North Vancouver park, Port Moody's Old City Hall), it can be mayhem, with hysterical fans showing up en masse. Some of those fans have travelled great distances – sometimes from other countries – to Vancouver in the hopes of seeing Pattinson, Stewart, Lutz (Emmett) or Lautner (Jacob) in the flesh. These pilgrimages are likely to continue until late next month, when shooting wraps up.

On Twitter, fans tweet about sightings. On Wednesday, when word emerged about a minor accident involving actor Jackson Rathbone (Jasper) during a fight-scene rehearsal, the news spread in minutes.

“We've never seen this level of interest by the public in something that's filming in British Columbia,” says B.C. Film Commissioner Susan Croome, who adds that, frankly, it worries her. “I think there's always a concern about safety when you have large numbers of people gathering in an area that is effectively a production zone. People are moving around a lot, there's heavy equipment, there's vehicles, there's a lot of elements, and so safety is always an issue on a film set. And when you have people that are keen to see what's going on and maybe not part of the process it's always a concern.”

There's safety – and then there's showbiz snitches. Some of the tips Goodson receives have to do with the film's content. And, like Showbiz Spy, Goodson says PopSugar is getting some of that information directly from the set.

“I think that they try really hard to keep that set as closely guarded as possible. They have the cast sworn to secrecy about everything and they try to have the set sworn to secrecy about everything, but there's a lot of people working on that movie and there's a lot of opportunities out there for them to leak information and that's how it gets out.

“Luckily for the franchise … it doesn't seem to lessen anybody's interest in it. It's not like they get the scoop and they're like, ‘Oh, I don't need to watch the movie now.' They just want to watch it more.”

Breaking Dawn to filmed in 2 parts?

For, I'm still deciding but.......

808 TWILIGHTERS: I want to know what you think!

Read the entire article from MTV's Hollywood Crush below.

Here's a link to E!Online HERE for their article that came out this past Thursday

Melissa Rosenberg has got to be the happiest lady in the Twi-verse. She has just signed on, according to E! Online, to pen the screenplay of the final “Twilight” novel, “Breaking Dawn” — which, by the way, we still don’t know if it’s going to be in one or two movies.
According to E!, when they spoke to Melissa last week, she said “everything was still up in the air,” but their “Twilight” insider said Melissa's deal is done, though Summit has returned to the idea of splitting “Breaking Dawn” into two movies.

While there is certainly enough content in “Breaking Dawn” to drag it out over two movies, I don’t think it should be done. There are going to be spoilers for a little while I continue my rant, so if you haven’t read “Breaking Dawn” yet, go out and remedy that and then come back and finish reading this post. The first “Breaking Dawn” film would be what? Bella and Edward getting married, going on a honeymoon and getting preggers? And then us having to sit around and watch as she gradually kills herself for a baby? Sorry guys, but I don’t want to spend two hours on that. And sure, the second film will be cool to see Bella run around as a vamp for maybe 30 minutes, tops, but the rest of that book is just an anti-climactic battle-less sequence!

Melissa has the — lucky or unlucky, you decide — job of rewriting Stephenie Meyer’s beloved vampire love story, and E! questions whether she has the ballsiness to do it. They suggest bringing in Diablo Cody for the final installment to crank this up a notch (let’s face it, the screenwriting in “Twilight” was pretty shoddy. Let’s hope more than RPattz’s pretty face can carry “New Moon”). But what I challenge Melissa, or whoever, to do in “Breaking Dawn” is remedy all the times Stephenie Meyer fell flat. Two hundred pages of Bella wasting away? Sorry, but that’s not something I want to see translated directly to the big screen.
